Beatriz Carrillo
Beatriz Carrillo was born in Barquisimeto, Lara State, Venezuela — a city affectionately known as “The City of Twilights” and valued for its deep-rooted musical tradition.
From a young age, she has been closely connected to music. Her first experience in choral singing began with the “Coralita” at Unidad Educativa Colegio Sagrado Corazón in Valencia, Venezuela. Later on, she joined the school’s Clear Voices Choir of Students and Parents, where her appreciation for collective vocal performance continued to grow.
During her school years, she had the opportunity to represent Colegio Sagrado Corazón in various music festivals, including ANDIEP, La Voz Liceísta, and FESVOC, earning recognition along the way — including a first-place award at the district level in the La Voz Liceísta competition.
She was also part of the school’s Gaitas ensemble, with which she participated in the State Gaitas Festival, where their performance of the original song “La Virgen del Socorro” received first place in the original composition category.
Beatriz now lives in Houston, Texas, where she is an active member of the Hispanic Choir of Houston, directed by Maestro Cruz Cabrera, singing in the contralto section. Being part of this group has allowed her to continue growing as a vocalist and stay connected to music and the Hispanic community.
