Dolores Mujica
Dolores Mujica was born in la Parroquia la Pastora, Caracas, Venezuela. From a very young age, music has been a meaningful and essential part of her life. She showed a natural inclination for singing early on and taught herself to play the Venezuelan cuatro, developing a deep connection to traditional music.
Every Christmas season, she actively participated in a holiday folk group (conjunto de aguinaldos), performing carols and festive songs as part of local community celebrations. During her school years, she joined the school choir, an experience that marked the beginning of her formal journey in choral music.
As an adult, she became a member of respected choral groups such as Coral El Cigarral and Coral del Hatillo, where she solidified her skills and experience as a soprano, performing a wide range of polyphonic and traditional repertoire.
She currently resides in Houston, Texas, where she is an active member of the Hispanic Choir of Houston, directed by Maestro Cruz Cabrera. Through this ensemble, she continues to develop her voice and share her passion for choral singing with the Hispanic community.
