Giancarlo Piletti Reyes

Giancarlo was born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1960. He is a Chemical Engineer and completed advanced studies in Management and Business Administration. He has experience in the areas of petrochemical processes, industrial investments, manufacturing of oil production and refining Equipment. He is specialized in procurement intelligence and general management. From an early age he was interested in music. He began exploring the Italian Accordion, then he dedicated himself to the Venezuelan Cuatro and singing. He was a founding member of the Orfeón de la Universidad Rafael Urdaneta in Maracaibo, Venezuela, where he performed as bass and soloist. In Houston he was a student of the singing teacher Lucy Hargis of the Northwest College of Fine Arts and soprano Jessica Colmenares. He is currently the administrative director and choir (bass) member of the Hispanic Choir of Houston, under the direction of maestro Cruz Cabrera. He sang for the choirs of Los Chiquinquireños de Houston, a Gaita Zuliana band and is a venezuelan cuatro player and vocalist of the strings sextet Interludio. He has developed a special taste for Sung Tango and has been interested in its history, composers and performers. He completed the courses of Political and Social History of Tango with Gustavo Varela and the History of Tango Cantado and Tango Hondura y Vuelo with Patricia Barone. He has been a vocalist of the Rene Csarsa Tango quintet and performed at the annual event “Tango Time 2017, 2018, 2019 & 2020” organized by Casa Argentina de Houston.
