Grecia Garibaldi

Grecia Garibaldi was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and holds a degree in Business Administration. She has been deeply connected to the world of music. At the age of five, she began studying the mandolin, an instrument that accompanied her early musical training, and later expanded her musical skills by learning the cuatro and the piano. Her artistic development also included a period of classical ballet studies before she discovered her true calling in choral singing. At 15, she joined the Coral Siamora Guerra of the Fundación Orfeón Universitario Vinicio Adames, under the direction of Eyra D’Giacomo, where she took part in several significant productions. One of the most meaningful was the performance of Cantata Criolla by maestro Antonio Estévez, conducted by Felipe Izcaray and accompanied by over 100 choristers with the Caracas Municipal Symphony Orchestra. She continued her training at the Fundación Orfeón Universitario Vinicio Adames under maestro Felipe Izcaray and also with Coral Maraven, a former PDVSA affiliate, under the direction of César Alejandro Carrillo, and later César Jaimes, assisted by Elsa Rodríguez. During these years, she delved into both Venezuelan and international choral repertoires, strengthened her vocal technique, and experienced the richness of collective choral work. After a long time away from singing, her migration journey led to an unexpected reconnection with music. Thanks to a friend, she joined the Hispanic Choir of Houston, an experience that marked a profound reconnection with her voice, her identity, and her musical history. Returning to choral singing has represented, for her, an essential return to her artistic vocation.
